The project « Towards European values – persons with disabilities as equal citizens »was funded with the support of the European Union under the Programme "Europe for Citizens"

7 events have been carried out within this project:

 

Event 1-Preparatory activity

 

Participation: The event involved  36 citizens, including  13 participants from the city of Belgrade (Serbia),  2 participants from the city of Pančevo (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Niš (Serbia), 2 participants from the city of Novi Sad (Serbia), 2 participants from the city of Jagodina (Serbia), 2 participants from the city of Vukovar (Croatia), 2 participants from the city of Skopje(Macedonia), 4 participants from the city of Pljevlja (Montenegro), 1 participant  from the city of Banja Luka (Bosna and Herzegovina), 2 participants from the city of Ljubljana (Slovenia), 3 participants from the city of Trieste (Italy).

 

Location/ Dates: The event took place in Trieste, Italy, from 04/09/2015  to 06/09/2015


Short description:  The aim of the event was to appoint Project team, develop detailed implementation plan, communication plan, design all the activities, as well as the method and the plan for monitoring and evaluation of implementation of planned activities, also as the selection criteria for participants and  delegation  of  project participants.

 

Event 2- Self-advocacy training module


Participation: The event involved 51 citizens, including  12 participants from the city of Belgrade (Serbia),4 participants from the city of Pančevo (Serbia), 6 participants from the city of Niš (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Novi Sad (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Jagodina (Serbia), 1 participant from the city of Obrenovac (Serbia), 3 participants from the city of Vukovar (Croatia), 3 participants from the city of Skopje(Macedonia), 3 participants from the city of Pljevlja (Montenegro), 3 participants from the city of Banja Luka (Bosna and Herzegovina), 4 participants from the city of Ljubljana (Slovenia), 4 participants from the city of Trieste (Italy).

 

Location/ Dates: The event took place in Jagodina (Sisevac), Serbia from 18/09/2015  to 20/09/2016 and in  Niš(Sisevac), Serbia from 23/10/2015 to 25/10/2015.


Short description:  The aim of the event was to tackle the issues of self-determination, expression of needs, identification of types of required support and self-empowerment trough two trainings sessions that include plenary sessions (with both professionals and persons with disabilities) as well as the specific sessions with each target group. The idea was that participants apply skills in their respective communities between and after workshops. Self-advocacy training sessions should result in empowered individuals, both service providers and persons with disabilities. Besides, workshops will serve to identify good practices in the field and develop joint model for self-advocacy as the key leverage for equal civic participation of persons with disabilities. It should directly contribute to capacity of people with disabilities to express their needs and opinions and to deliberate on complex policy issues.

 

Event 3-Volunteering as tool for inclusion of persons with disabilities


Participation: The event involved  53 citizens, including  9 participants from the city of Belgrade (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Pančevo (Serbia), 7 participants from the city of Novi Sad (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Jagodina (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Niš (Serbia),7 participants from the city of Vukovar (Croatia), 1 participant from the city of Osijek (Croatia), 4 participants from the city of Skopje(Macedonia), 4 participants from the city of Pljevlja (Montenegro), 4 participants from the city of Banja Luka (Bosna and Herzegovina), 5 participants from the city of Ljubljana (Slovenia).

 

Location/ Dates: The event took place in Vukovar, Croatia from 11/12/2015  to 13/12/2015

 

Short description:  The aim of the event was to develop capacities of 20 service providers and 20 persons with disabilities to establish volunteer service and to be able to overcome all challenges that may occur in its provision and to provide ground for unique experience for persons with disabilities to interact with other citizens doing voluntary work beneficial for community, trough Educational part of volunteering management . Additionally, established voluntary services will have effects on at least 240 community members.The idea was to tackle Voluntarism as potential tool for socialization and full inclusion in local community of persons with disabilities through one three day workshop gathering project partners and participants. This activity should provide guidelines for those wishing to set-up volunteer service where people with disabilities will presume the role of volunteers stimulating their socialization. Process of volunteering should represent meeting point of citizens with and without disabilities.

Event 4-Peer support workshops and service implementation

 

Participation: The event involved  49 citizens, including  12 participants from the city of Belgrade (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Pančevo (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Niš (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Novi Sad (Serbia), 3 participants from the city of Jagodina (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Vukovar (Croatia), 4 participants from the city of Skopje(Macedonia), 4 participants from the city of Pljevlja (Montenegro), 2 participants  from the city of Banja Luka (Bosna and Herzegovina),  4 participants from the city of Trieste (Italy). 4 participants from the city of Ljubljana (Slovenia).

 

Location/ Dates: The event took place in Belgrade, Serbia, from 18/03/2016  to 20/03/2016


Short description:  The aim of the event was deliberation on existing peer support practices and design of  the applicable model for this service as integral part of final model of social inclusion. It represents citizen to citizen support at the local levels, given the fact that people with disabilities should apply in practice acquired skills working in mobile teams through service provision for additional 50 beneficiaries in their municipalities. Peer Support workshops represent innovative approach of support service delivery where persons with intellectual disabilities are skilled to provide assistance to their peers and/or elder people in their local communities. Peer support practice and challenges were explored through 3 day training session assigning persons with disabilities the roles of educators as experienced peer supporters.

Event 5-Work engagement program

 

Participation: The event involved  57 citizens, including  10 participants from the city of Belgrade (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Pančevo (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Niš (Serbia), 8 participants from the city of Novi Sad (Serbia), 6 participants from the city of Jagodina (Serbia), 5 participants from the city of Vukovar (Croatia), 4 participants from the city of Skopje(Macedonia), 4 participants from the city of Pljevlja (Montenegro), 4 participants  from the city of Banja Luka (Bosna and Herzegovina), 4 participants from the city of Ljubljana (Slovenia),  4 participants from the city of Trieste (Italy).

 

Location/ Dates: The event took place in Novi Sad, Serbia, from 22/04/2016  to 24/04/2016


Short description:  The aim of the event was to skill 20 professionals on how to conduct programs of professional rehabilitation and work engagement of persons with disabilities and train 20 people with disabilities to prepare them to join the open labour market, also as to tackle challenges to ensure smart, inclusive and sustainable growth and to use all available human resources in terms of inclusive EU and national policies design. Work engagement program consists of three day workshop aiming to showcase the good practice in enhancing employment opportunities for persons with intellectual disabilities often deprived of legal capacity and excluded from open labor market. Program thrives upon the piloted, tested and approved work engagement program by project partners from Serbia, accredited by Serbia's Republic Institute for Social Protection.

 

Event 6- Social entrepreneurship debate

Participation: The event involved  47 citizens, including  10 participants from the city of Belgrade (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Pančevo (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Niš (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Novi Sad (Serbia), 3 participants from the city of Jagodina (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Vukovar (Croatia), 7 participants from the city of Skopje(Macedonia), 5 participants from the city of Pljevlja (Montenegro), 2 participants  from the city of Banja Luka (Bosna and Herzegovina), 4 participants from the city of Ljubljana (Slovenia).

 

Location/ Dates: The event took place in Ohrid, Macedonia, from 22/04/2016  to 24/04/2016


Short description: The aim of the event was to guide the participants trough the process of forming the social enterprise exchanging the experiences among social entrepreneurs from different countries. The idea was that participants elaborate on future of reforms of social policy and sustainability of social services through social entrepreneurship and come up with concrete recommendations for development of national policies in the field and EU policies in terms of conducive legislative framework for social business. Social entrepreneurship was tackled through the active debate of existing and potential social entrepreneurs from partner countries from the perspective of its potential as a tool of social policy and employment of marginalized citizens. It is important component of EU economic and social model and subject of debate of its future. Concrete business ideas will receive support in elaboration of business plan and organizational development of social enterprise.

Event 7- Conference

Participation: The event involved  108 citizens, including  42 participants from the city of Belgrade (Serbia), 4 participants from the city of Pančevo (Serbia), 5 participants from the city of Niš (Serbia), 26 participants from the city of Novi Sad (Serbia), 3 participants from the city of Jagodina (Serbia), 1 participant from the city of Ivanjica (Serbia), 1 participant from the city of Smederevo (Serbia), 2 participants from Stari Lec (Serbia), 3 participants from the city of Subotica (Serbia), 5 participants from the city of Vukovar (Croatia), 4 participants from the city of Skopje(Macedonia), 4 participants from the city of Pljevlja (Montenegro), 2 participants  from the city of Banja Luka (Bosna and Herzegovina), 2 participants from the city of Ljubljana (Slovenia),  4 participants from the city of Trieste (Italy).

 

Location/ Dates: The event took place in Novi Sad, Serbia, on 08/07/2016


Short description:  The aim of the event was to
gather civil society organizations, DPOs, persons with disabilities and their families, municipal officials, State representatives and EU officials and to present Guide comprising the model for self-advocacy and social inclusion of citizens with disabilities offering range of good practices in the field and models for its application.
